    Erasmus+

Erasmus+ is the EU’s programme for collaboration in higher education. Erasmus+ started in 2014 and will run until 2020. The programme offers opportunities for international exchange and strategic collaboration projects, and funding for policy reforms. The sub-programmes within Erasmus+ include: Erasmus+ exchange mobility, joint Master’s degrees, strategic partnerships, knowledge alliances and capacity building projects.

    Erasmus+ exchange mobility

The exchange mobility within Erasmus+ is based on bilateral agreements between higher education institutions. These agreements lay the foundation for exchanges for students and teaching staff, who can receive grants when they go on an exchange. There are also grants for students who do work placements and for administrative staff.?The funding is primarily for cooperation between European universities, but there is also some funding for cooperation with higher education institutions outside Europe.?The aims of the programme are increased international mobility among students and teaching staff, greater openness, and recognition of academic study and qualifications.

    International Credit Mobility

The International Credit Mobility (ICM) programme provides opportunity for collaboration and exchange between programme countries (countries in Europe that participate in the Erasmus+ programme) and partner countries (non-European countries that participate in the Erasmus+ programme). To be able to take part in ICM, an Inter-Institutional Agreement (IIA) needs to be in place according to the programme regulations. The IIA stipulates the amount of funding and the number of possible mobilities (scholarships). The funding is earmarked for participating institutions at Lund University and specific universities in the partner country. ?

Available scholarship opportunities will be announced internally at the faculties. The student needs to be registered at a Swedish higher education institution to apply.

    • Students at all levels (Bachelor's, Master's and PhD) can study for 3–12 months in a programme country or partner country.
    • Academic and administrative staff at higher education institutions have the opportunity to teach, conduct job shadowing or undertake other academic activities at partner universities in programme countries and partner countries. Higher education institutions can also invite employees from businesses or organisations to teach.
